Abstract

The article presents an analysis of basic elements of the adaptation model, carried out by the study group of the Nursing Faculty.

From a philosophic and scientific historical review of the Model’s principles, concepts such as human adaptive system, environment, stimuli, coping mechanisms, adaptation level, health and nursing goal are approached, considering self determination and personal mechanisms to reach an adequate level of adaptation.
