This article reports the results of a descriptive research of testing that tested and verified the proposed theoretical approaches of the Conceptual Model of Symptom Management in the first dimension. The sample included 380 women hospitalized with confirmed diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome. Structural Equations were used for the analysis. Using the technique of Confirmatory Factor Analysis, components of Perception, Evaluation and Response, were treated as joint functions of the latent variable “ Symptom Experience”. From all possible combinations of the cluster identified, were presented three (3) Models with a proper fit between the hypothesized model and data, which showed that the evaluation component is manifested in the Experience symptoms. The results of this study generate a contribution to theory and research, also showing the importance of the cognitive interventions to promote a favorable response from women with Acute coronary syndrome in the process of coping with the disease.
