The nursing metaparadigm defines the key elements of the discipline. This document analyses its relationship with the nursing views to understand their influence on teaching, care practice, research, and nursing services management. From the analyses, it was found the metaparadigm gives coherence to the curriculum, which facilitates the connection between theory and practice. In research, this delimits the phenomena of study and guides the methodologies. In management, it allows to organize and improve the quality of care in the care practice; additionally, it promotes a holistic scope when it considers the interaction between health, nursing, the person and the environment. Its integration with the views is key to addressing emerging challenges like climate change and artificial intelligence.
