The objective of the present work is to outline the relationship among the models and theories, which states general behaviors and influential actions, toward healthy behaviors, specifically in people with incapacity due to cancer, showing tools for a better survival. The following theories of self care are presented: Uncertainty, Stress, Confrontation, Crisis and the model of Beliefs in Health. The main idea in this work is to visualize the relationship of theories in cancer therapy and nursing presence, with a perspective of improving the quality of life in these patients.
