Keywords:
Family risk, family health, adolescent pregnant families and family nursing.Abstract
This study on Family Nursing with emphasis on Family run within the research of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. It describes the characteristics, risks factors and degree of family health faced by families with pregnant adolescents in little towns of Cundinamarca (Chía, Cajicá and Cota). It is a descriptive study that follows a transversal and quantitative methodology. Two different instruments on Family Nursing were used: “Total family risk 7-70” and “ISF GES 19” which haven been made and tested by Dr. Pilar Amaya de Peña (1992- 1998) with Colombian urban families from low social status.
From the 66 families studied, it was found that a 62% of families faced high risk of affected family health, 36% faced a medium high risk and 2% faced low risks. The high risk categories comprise health practice and services. It also revealed information on the degree of family health and family satisfaction with respect to what the family is and what they do to achieve their goals related to growth, stability and behavior.
It was concluded that from the studied families, those who lived in rural areas run higher risk with respect to health than families living in urban areas. The families studied do not have the knowledge and practice to prevent sicknesses and the promote health within the family. These findings demand from nursing and other health professionals to offer health services to those families with pregnant adolescents in order to decrease the family health risks and promote the family health level by promoting actions to prevent sicknesses and assure healthy measures.
